Al Madina does not discriminate with regard to race, gender, religion, or national origin, in administration of its educational policies, enrollment policies, and other school-administered programs. We accept all interested students based on our current enrollment provided they meet the school’s admission requirements.
Al Madina is a Pre-K-12th grade full time Islamic school which subscribes to the goal of meeting and exceeding the standards of the Virginia S.O.L.s while providing an Islamic based educational experience for its students. All students, regardless of religion, will be required to take the full curriculum of academic courses, which include all general subjects with the addition of Qur’an, Arabic and Islamic Studies. t follow the values of student behavior as they relate to the parent-student handbook.
Character Building is at the core of our mission at Al Madina. Our Islamic identity is strong and our school culture, programs of study, and daily activities all work to impart strong Islamic beliefs into our students. Our goal is to graduate practicing Muslims and we know that the best way to do that is to provide an environment and school community in which students realize the beauty of Islam and feel a true joy and love in doing what they know is pleasing to God. Islamic studies is not taught in a way that is removed from everyday life but it is rather made relevant and meaningful. We teach simultaneously to the heart and the mind so that as the students’ knowledge base grows so does their love. At Al Madina, students learn that Islam is a mission that guides them to be of upright character and a source of positive and dynamic change for their families, communities, and the society at large. This is the way that Prophet Muhammad – peace be upon him – and his Companions lived Islam and we strive to emulate their noble examples.
Social, emotional, and spiritual learning is a priority for everyone in our school community. As we challenge our students academically, we are aware that without being socially, emotionally, and spiritually healthy our students will not be able to achieve the kind of success that we dream for them. At the same time, we are well aware that with strong social, emotional, and spiritual cores, our students will have the motivation and drive to achieve at their optimum. Character building, spiritual enrichment, concern for our students’ social and emotional needs are all tools that we use to help our students growth during the critical years they spend at Al Madina.
While we strive to integrate Islamic teachings into every aspect of our school, we have special programs geared specifically to their spiritual enrichment
