Know Us Better

Mission and Vision

The mission of Al Madina School of Richmond is to support and develop our students academically, socially and spiritually through an outstanding curriculum offered in an Islamic environment, which will lead them to understand their roles as guardians of Allah’s creation.

Our vision is that students will embody the Islamic values of honesty, patience, justice, integrity, self-discipline, tolerance, and respect for all Creation. Our God-conscious school environment nurtures, empowers and prepares students to use Islamic knowledge as the guiding light for success in this life and the hereafter.

Our goal is to provide excellent academic programs, activities, and services to the children in our community to promote scholastic, personal, spiritual, and social skills based on Islamic ideals as decreed by Allah (God) in the Qur’an and by the teachings of our beloved Prophet (SAWS).

Our Programs

Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4 Preschool/ (Montessori Inspired):

Al Madina’s Preschool Program  has a unique approach to learning. Our goals are to cultivate each child’s natural desire to learn, acquire and master skills, learn responsibility and cooperation, foster positive feelings about oneself, others and to love Islam. Children are encouraged to pursue their interests and make responsible choices for themselves. Our program focuses on developing the total child within a thoughtfully designed,  3 & 4 year old daily,  Montessori inspired, Islamic environment.

The Lower School (Elementary) program carefully considers all aspects of a child’s development: emotional, social, physical, and cognitive.  We believe that children can best acquire a rich body of knowledge and the skills needed for future learning through a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate.

The Upper School (Middle/ High) program is designed to acquire authentic knowledge and twenty-first century skills through discussion, discovery, and deep exploration.

We take pride in being a project-based, global classroom model where our teachers use relevant, rigorous, and real world
techniques and technologies to create an environment for constant, meaningful community leadership and life-long learning through differentiated instruction.

Curriculum

Al Madina school of Richmond offers a rigorous curriculum that combines critical thinking and spirituality in a way that deepens a student’s understanding of their responsibility to aid in the betterment of society.
