Nauman Chaudary

Dr. Chaudary completed internal medicine residency at Marshall University, and adult pulmonary disease and critical care medicine fellowships at West Virginia University. He currently has appointments as Associate Professor of medicine and Director of adult cystic fibrosis center with Department of Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is actively involved in both investigator initiated research funded by the CFF and NIH, as well as acting as primary investigator on multiple CFFT trials. He has composed and directed the adult cystic fibrosis center care teams that had broad-based clinical and scientific expertise. Under his leadership adult center developed global improvements in quality measures for CF Foundation centers registry data. He also advanced the knowledge and innovation in treatment of CF. He has presented and published on the topic in national meetings and peer reviewed Journals.

He has been an award winning teacher and mentored numerous students, residents and fellows. He serves as consultant to pharmaceutical industry and experts worldwide for development of newer treatment options for CF.

Dr. Chaudary recently has received the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation “Program for Adult Care Excellence” grant award and Cystic Fibrosis Circle of Care grant award which will improve adherence as well as self empower adults to cope with this chronic illness.

Dr. Chaudary is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine. He divides his time between intensive care unit, outpatient clinics and clinical investigator research. He is an avid swimmer, racquetball player and runner.

As a Board Member he is determined to find a world class Islamic school for the future of youth of Richmond VA. Richmond youth are his inspiration to explore future strategies to achieve a better united school. His work at the VCU Medical Center has enhanced his confidence, skills, and knowledge, endowing him with the necessary skills to not only be an excellent physician but an effective board member Inshallah.
