Teaching at Al Madina
Al Madina School of Richmond reviews its staffing needs annually and generally begins advertising in early spring for experienced class and subject teachers as well as support staff for the upcoming school year. Advertisements are placed on our website.
We also accept resumes for our Substitute Teacher List throughout the school year. Applicants who are selected for our Substitute Teacher List are invited for an orientation and for observing in a classroom. Rate of pay is commensurate with experience.
Candidates who are being considered for Class or Subject Teacher positions will be invited to an interview with our Hiring Committee. Candidates who are short-listed after that interview will then be asked to teach a demonstration lesson to one of our classes while being observed by members of the Hiring Committee. A full benefits package is provided for salaried staff working full time including health insurance and tuition discount for teachers’ children enrolled in our school.
If you wish to apply, please complete the application and attach a cover letter, current resume and list of three professional references. Please click here for the employment application. Please address it to: The Hiring Committee, Al Madina School of Richmond, 10700 Academy Drive Richmond, VA 23112. We prefer to receive applications on paper and mailed to us. However, you may fax it to the school at (804) 330-4889 or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your application should include details of your experience with and interest in education. We thank you for your interest in our school. Due to time constraints, only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
Who are we searching for?
Early each spring, we begin our search for experienced class and subject teachers for the upcoming school year. We favor applicants who are eligible for a Virginia Teaching Certificate (i.e. hold a Bachelor of Education degree) and/or proven teaching experience. We are looking for warm, imaginative, committed, and dynamic individuals to join our faculty and community. In addition, we look for teaching assistants, preferably those with experience, as well as support staff for our growing enrollment.
What do we offer?
Our salaries range, depending on training and experience. We also offer teacher training and workshops, sick leave and vacation days, and a 40% reduction of tuition for children of full-time faculty and staff.
